The pilot projects of the passive residential buildings have increased in the hot summer and cold winter zone of China. However, it is crucial to determine if this kind of system is suitable for the particular climate in this area. Analyses the thermal and moisture loads and proper air conditioning systems of the passive residential buildings by simulating, testing and theoretically calculating. The results show that, based on the good thermal insulation performance, the maximum thermal load of the building can be decreased to simplify the air conditioning system. Under the condition of 90% load guarantee ratethe outdoor air temperature in each room maintains at 15 to 17 and the humidity ratio is 10.7 to 10.9 g/kg. The dedicated outdoor air system can meet the whole load of the building. Meanwhile we should consider the condensation problem and individual outdoor air control method.
